About

Hi, I’m  Brian and I play guitar. I began playing in late 1999 after I had a dream about playing guitar. I’ve never taken formal lessons, but have encountered many MANY helpful guitar players along the way, each of which has shown me new techniques, and through that I’ve grown as a player.

So let me back up a little bit. It was a couple of months before my vision (so probably sometime over the summer before my freshman year in high school), a guitar playing friend of mine tried teaching me some things on the guitar.  So we pulled out my dad’s old Harmony Monterey Archtop and tried to play. Well I wasn’t very successful and so the guitar went back in the closet along with a few chord sheets my friend had left behind.

Fast forward a few months to the dream. It went as follows:
There I was in the pit area at Lee USA Speedway next to a car trailer sitting on a guitar amplifier. I was sitting there playing and singing “My All in All” (this song already had special meaning before this dream). As I’m playing and singing, suddenly I hear more voices singing behind me. I turn around and look and there on the top of the bleechers is a crowd of people singing along.

It was shortly after that dream that this trip began. I went back to the closet, pulled out Dad’s guitar along with the chord sheets and played my first chord, an E. (Well, I “attempted” to play). From there, I’ve just been along for the ride.

It was then my Junior year in college when I joined my first worship team, and I’ve been pretty much using my gift in service since then.

(yet even more to come…I’m sure)
